Get a sneak peak of National Geographic’s third season of Genius that covers Aretha Franklin’s Legacy this Saturday, March 13th.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Bedrock’s Monroe Street Drive-In, in collaboration with Emagine, will be hosting a free screening of the upcoming third season of National Geographic,’s Genius: Aretha. The third season of their Genius series will highlight Aretha Franklin’s musical genius, civil rights activism, and will star Double Oscar Nominee Cynthia Erivo. You can check out the trailer here.

National Geographic’s first two seasons focused on Albert Einstein and Picasso, with both seasons achieving Emmy nominations for Best Limited Series and nominations for Best Leading Actor. Season 3 on Aretha was previously slated to premiere last Spring but was pushed back due to the pandemic.
The Detroit premiere will be followed by premieres in multiple cities like Atlanta, New York, and Pasadena, all before the March 21st premiere on Hulu.
This screening is happening on Saturday, March 13th. Gates open at 6pm and admission will be granted on a first come, first serve basis. Unfortunately, no advanced tickets will be available, so arrive early to get a spot.
