What is “Ballet of Lights”?
‘Ballet of Lights’ redefines the boundaries of traditional ballet, combining classical choreography with mesmerizing light displays to create a truly immersive performance. Thanks to the stunning fibre-optic lights sewn into the ballerinas’ costumes, the world-renowned Sleeping Beauty ballet receives a luminous twist. Whether you’re new to ballet or are a real aficionado, this experience is open to all audiences.
Ballet, its storytelling and the show
Every movement in ballet has a meaning and each character has a distinct choreography that reflects their personality. This is how timeless ballets like The Sleeping Beauty tell a story through dance. For instance, Prince Desiré’s outstretched arms may symbolize longing, while a hand on Princess Aurora’s heart or shoulder might show love and affection.
At ‘Ballet of Lights’, expect the art form’s expressive choreography with graceful pirouettes and gravity-defying leaps, plus light-changing costumes and an abridged version of the iconic Tchaikovsky soundtrack. Through these elements, the show will leave you spellbound long after the final bow.
