Here are some of the biggest Juneteenth celebrations taking place around Metro Detroit in 2026.
Detroit’s original Juneteenth Parade & Celebration returns to Midtown on Friday, June 19, from 9 am to 2 pm.
The event begins at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 2080 W. Grand Blvd., Detroit, and features a parade along with community festivities celebrating freedom, culture, and history.
The event is free to attend, making it one of the most accessible Juneteenth celebrations in the city. Midtown’s mix of cultural institutions, restaurants, and historic landmarks also makes it a great destination for a full day of exploration.
SHAR Inc. and ECHO Detroit will host their 5th Annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 13, beginning at 2 p.m. at SHAR Academy, 1851 W. Grand Blvd., Detroit.
The event’s signature Block Club Extravaganza brings together healthcare organizations, community groups, local vendors, entertainment, food, family activities, health screenings, and educational resources. Organizers describe it as an event designed for everyone from young children to seniors.
The celebration is free to attend and focuses on connecting residents with community resources while creating a festive neighborhood atmosphere.
Food lovers can head to Dearborn for the Juneteenth Artisan Baking Competition & Cottage Food Market on Friday, June 19, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The event takes place at the City Hall Artspace Lofts Annex, 13615 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, and showcases home bakers, cottage food entrepreneurs, specialty products, baked goods, jams, sauces, and healthy food options.
Attendees can shop local vendors, watch the baking competition, and support grassroots entrepreneurs.
The City of Detroit’s inaugural Freedom Festival will take place on Saturday, June 20, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Joy and Spinoza Green Space in Rouge Park.
The festival will feature free food, live entertainment, bounce houses, community resources, health screenings, family games, and cultural programming celebrating Black history and heritage.

Juneteenth at The Wright Museum

Juneteenth Jubilee Detroit returns for its eighth year with multiple events during its Freedom Weekend celebration.
The weekend includes The Liberation Link Up: Artistically Black on June 19 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., an upscale networking event featuring live entertainment, community leaders, entrepreneurs, and a grant competition supporting Detroit-based businesses.
The celebration continues with Jubilee on the Block on June 20 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., featuring live music, vendors, family activities, community resources, and a Taste of Freedom Bake Off.

Another option on Juneteenth Day is DABO Detroit’s First Annual Juneteenth Palooza Parade & Concert, taking place on Friday, June 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
