Detroit food lovers won’t have to wait much longer for one of the city’s most anticipated culinary events of the year.
Iron Chef Detroit III is set to return next week, transforming Eastern Market’s Shed 5 into a live-action “Kitchen Stadium” where two acclaimed chefs will battle for bragging rights in front of hundreds of spectators.
More than just a cooking competition, the annual event doubles as a fundraiser supporting Cass Community Social Services, a Detroit nonprofit focused on fighting poverty, creating opportunity, and building community throughout the city.
Guests can expect high-energy competition, a mystery ingredient revealed live on stage, and plenty of opportunities to sample food and drinks from some of Metro Detroit’s most popular restaurants and beverage makers.
When and where is the Iron Chef Detroit showdown happening?
Iron Chef Detroit III will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Eastern Market Shed 5 in Detroit.
The event marks the third edition of the annual fundraiser, which launched in 2024 and has quickly become one of the city’s premier food-focused charity events.
This year’s showdown features defending champion Andy Hollyday of Selden Standard facing challenger John Vermiglio of Grey Ghost, Basan, Second Best, and Little Ghost in a three-round cooking competition.
During each round, the chefs must incorporate a secret ingredient that won’t be revealed until the event begins.
A panel of respected judges will score the dishes, while hosts Carlos Parisi and chef-author Jon Kung guide the audience through the action.

Can you attend Iron Chef Detroit III, and how much do tickets cost?
Yes — the event is open to the public, and tickets are currently available.
General admission tickets cost:
- $50 in advance
- $60 at the door (if available)
One of the biggest draws is that the ticket is all-inclusive, meaning attendees can enjoy food and beverage samples from more than 20 participating restaurants, caterers, bars, and beverage brands throughout the evening.
Organizers say there are no separate drink tickets or premium upgrades required once you’re inside.
Last year’s event attracted more than 500 guests, highlighting the growing popularity of the competition among Detroit’s food community.
For anyone looking to experience some of the region’s best chefs, discover local restaurants, and support a good cause, Iron Chef Detroit III offers a unique opportunity to do all three in one night.
