Steven Yeun, who’s been on the acting scene with several notable roles and performances over the years, is officially an award-winning actor taking home the award for best actor in a limited series, anthology series, or TV movie.
In 2023, Steven Yeun starred in the Netflix limited series ‘Beef‘, which is a touching story about raw emotions and human connection, and his performance as Danny Cho, a struggling contractor who is swept up in a destructive quest for revenge after a road rage incident was so well received that he’s now become a critically acclaimed actor. Notably though, his co-star for the limited series, Ali Wong, also took home the best actress Golden Globe award for the same category, displaying a clear sweep for the acting ability displayed in the series.
During his speech, Steven thanks his wife, Joana, referring to her as “strength” and even referring to the Disney movie “Frozen” before shouting out his daughter Ruthie as well.
Steven Yeun who was born in South Korea, grew up in the suburbs of Detroit after his parents immigrated to the United States where they opened several beauty supply stores and worked towards the “American Dream”. During the late 80’s and early 90’s Yeun family resided in the suburb of Taylor, but around the mid 90’s their family relocated to Troy. Yeun eventually went on to attend Kalamazoo College where he studied psychology before deciding to shift to acting, since then he’s had several iconic and memorable roles including:
