Noel Night is back for the 49th time this year! Noel Night is an open house of the Midtown Detroit and Cultural Center districts produced by Midtown Detroit, Inc. to celebrate the diverse holiday traditions in the Detroit area. The festivities are going to be one night only, on Saturday, December 2nd, the hours of the Cultural Center festivities will run from 5 pm to 9 pm whereas the Midtown Detroit fun will be running from 5 pm to 10 pm!
What is Noel Night?
As we mentioned Noel Night is the annual event produced every holiday season by the nonprofit Midtown Detroit, Inc. to bring together the local community and celebrate the diverse holiday traditions that are celebrated by Detroiters every year. The festivities include live music, pop-up winter markets to do some holiday shopping, special deals from local food trucks and restaurants, and of course the chance to visit Santa!
Over 100 venues and local cultural institutions take part in the festivities, highlighting the event’s cultural significance as Midtown Detroit prepares to transform into a wintery wonderland!
Is Noel Night free to attend?
Yes, Noel Night is free to attend! This event was created with the intent to support the rebuilding and reconnecting of the Midtown Detroit community, so it’s an inclusive event that is meant for all Detroit families to participate in if they can. Of course, as there are markets and crafting sessions that you can opt-in for, we recommend you bring some cash in case you find you decide to do some holiday shopping for those close to you because you never know when you are going to find the perfect gift!
When and where is Noel Night?
Noel Night is celebrating its 49th annual iteration this weekend December 2nd starting at 5 pm. The festivities that will take place in Midtown Detroit are going to be from Ferry Street to the north, Charlotte to the south, St. Antoine to the east, and Third Avenue to the west, while the festivities at the Cultural Center will be around the DIA between Ferry St and Warren Ave.
