The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) is coming to Detroit later this month for a neutral-site matchup between the New York Sirens and Montreal Victoire!
The high-speed matchup between the 4th-seeded Sirens and the 2nd-seeded Victoire could have significant repercussions for the league standings as the playoff push approaches.
Aside from this game’s significance as a ‘must-win’ for the Siren and ‘can’t-lose’ for the Victoire, this game is also set to make history as the first-ever PWHL game to be broadcast on TV nationally across the United States!
The PWHL established a one-time partnership with Scripps Sports to broadcast the game on ION, making the PWHL accessible to around 126 million households across the United States for the first time.
The agreement also involved the Detroit-based business Ally Financial, which is the main sponsor of the PWHL’s ‘Takeover Tour’ stop in Detroit!
While the broadcasting agreement is currently a one-time deal, the hope is that high viewership could lead to a long-term partnership, allowing the PWHL to consistently broadcast its games on TV across the country.

When is the PWHL ‘Takeover Tour’ coming to Detroit?
The PWHL’s ‘Takeover Tour’ is stopping in Detroit for a matchup between the New York Sirens and Montreal Victoire on Sunday, March 28th, at Little Caesars Arena!
The puck is scheduled to drop at 1 pm, but there are often special events that happen before the game starts, so it could be worth showing up a little early.
How much do tickets cost?
If you want to be a part of history and attend the first-ever PWHL game to be televised across the United States, you’ll be happy to hear that there are still a lot of tickets available, but unfortunately, a majority of the preferred seats have been sold out.
That being said, tickets to get in the door are starting at just $37.50 per person for upper-deck seats.
