One of the country’s most talked-about burger chains, Slutty Vegan, is officially making its Michigan debut this fall, bringing its viral plant-based burgers and energetic dining experience to Corktown.
The Atlanta-born brand has built a devoted following across the U.S. thanks to its indulgent vegan comfort food, playful menu names, and celebrity backing. After drawing hours-long lines during a Metro Detroit pop-up earlier this year, the company is now preparing to open its first permanent location in the state.

When and where will Slutty Vegan open in Detroit?
Slutty Vegan is expected to open around September 2026, although an official grand opening date has not yet been announced.
The restaurant will be located at 1441 W. Elizabeth St. in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood, tucked behind McShane’s Irish Pub & Whiskey Bar and directly across from The Corner Ballpark. The location marks the brand’s first Michigan restaurant and its first permanent location anywhere in the Midwest.
The Detroit franchise is being led by Obinani Iwuoha, owner of Nigerian Streetz Cuisine, a popular Metro Detroit food truck.
Earlier this year, Iwuoha helped introduce the concept locally through a pop-up event in Allen Park that attracted long lines and demonstrated strong demand for the brand before construction on the permanent restaurant even began.
The company says additional Michigan locations could eventually follow as its footprint expands.
Why is Slutty Vegan one of America’s most iconic restaurant chains?
Since launching in Atlanta in 2018, Slutty Vegan has become far more than just another burger restaurant.
Founded by entrepreneur Pinky Cole Hayes, the brand first gained traction through Instagram before opening its first brick-and-mortar restaurant.
It quickly became a social media phenomenon thanks to its bold branding, lively customer experience, and menu packed with creatively named items including the Hollywood Hooker, One Night Stand, and Super Slut burgers.
Despite the provocative names, the menu is entirely plant-based.
