The iconic 313 day is almost upon us once again, and because Detroiters may be overwhelmed by the amount of deals, discounts, and events happening around the city, we’ve rounded up a short list of our 3 best ways to celebrate 313 day in Detroit!
The special holiday inspired by Detroit’s 313 area code dates back to the 2010s and has become one of the year’s greatest days for local pride.
This year, 313 Day falls on a Friday, making it the perfect opportunity for Detroiters to unwind and enjoy the occasion truly!
So, here are our three best ways to celebrate the day this year:

1. Head to Belle Isle for the reopening of its historic casino
Belle Isle is going to be celebrating 313 Day all day long with many family-friendly activities taking place across the island, ranging from music to nature programming.
That being said, the single event happening at Belle Isle that stands out from the other 313 Day celebrations happening around Detroit is the special reopening of its historic casino!
The casino will be opening to the public for the first time since 2023, when it was closed for major renovations.
The casino is going to be officially reopening at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 13th, but the real celebration, “the 313 Day Detroit House Party”, will take place between 6 pm and 8 pm, and feature a live set by DJ Bruce Bailey.
The part will only be open to the first 313 guests, making it one of the most exclusive events happening this 313 Day!

2. Go to the Pistons’ ‘313 Day’ game night against the Memphis Grizzlies
While the game between the Pistons and Grizzlies isn’t slated to tip off until 7:30 pm this Friday, there are going to be festivities kicking off around 5:30 pm outside of Little Caesars Arena.
A few of the things happening outside of the stadium include:
- Play on a Pistons Academy half-court basketball activation.
- Receive complimentary sneaker cleaning and exclusive 313 Day shoe customizations from Clean Sneaker Co.
- Taste test special 313 Day drinks from Cappuccino Man.
Once inside, there are going to be other giveaways and special promotions:
- The first 3,130 fans will receive a Pistons 313 Day chain.
- A hat customizer station to buy personalized hats with patches designed by Ink Detroit.
- A halftime performance by Skilla Baby & the Detroit Youth Choir.

3. Attend The Detroit Riverfront 313 Day Festival
From 3:13 pm to 8 pm, Detroiters are welcome to swing by Robert C. Valade Park for a free, family-friendly celebration in honor of 313 Day.
There will be a ton of activities, including interactive art sessions, a poetry-writing station, a chess tournament, live printmaking, specialty Detroit merch, and plenty of food and drinks from local Detroit businesses.
