When it comes to rudeness, there are several cities around the country that have seemingly embraced it as their personality.
In some cities, things like overly-aggressive sports fans, locals known to give you the cold shoulder, or people eager to shoulder you out of their way on the sidewalk, have unfortunately become the norm.
Given how these rude behaviours seem to be on the rise, a new study analyzed the 40 most popular cities in the nation to determine which were the rudest.
How was Detroit ranked as one of the least rude cities in the country?
According to the study, Detroit clocked in as the #9 least rude city that was included in the analysis!
The study broke down several factors and used them to compare 40 of the most populous cities in the country, giving each city a score on a scale from 0 to 100, with 100 being the most rude.
Detroit’s rudeness score was just 72.17, which was low enough for the D to be considered the ninth least rude city in the country!
Considering Detroiters are known to have an edge as residents of a city whose defining qualities have become perseverance and overcoming obstacles, we think the study was right on the mark.
It’s no surprise that Detroit has had to battle an outdated reputation that often puts the city and its residents in a negative light, so studies with findings like these seem refreshing.
