This Friday, December 8th, the annual Detroit Tequila Festival is returning for the seventh time, giving Detroiters a unique opportunity to sample some of the finest brands of tequilas that can be found on the market today! The tasting event will feature over 80 unique tequila options to sample and will feature unique new tequila-based products like Tequila Liqueurs, Creams, Infusions, Flavored Tequilas and Mezcals, and even a variety of classic tequila cocktails such as margaritas!
What to expect at the Detroit Tequila Festival
As mentioned, this year’s event will feature over 80 different tequilas to choose from including many from some of the most iconic tequila brands in the world, as well as, many new brands that have recently come onto the market. In addition to the sampling, you can also enjoy live music and take home with you a souvenir glass included in the price of admission and a keepsake photo taken in front of the event’s photo-op.
This year’s festival will also be catered by local food trucks as well as retail vendors, however, the official full list of vendors has not yet been announced.
Everything you need to know before going
To attend the Detroit Tequila Festival this year, as always, you’ll have to buy your ticket in advance, currently, the prices are discounted at $80 for VIP tickets and $65 for general admission (GA) tickets. VIP tickets will include early entry into the event, a commemorative shot glass for the sampling, a keepsake image in their photo booth, and 15 drink sample tickets, while GA tickets will include a commemorative shot glass for the sampling, a keepsake image in their photo booth, and only 10 drink sample tickets. There are also designated driver tickets available for $25 online or at the door, but they must be accompanying someone who has purchased a GA or VIP ticket.
The event will take place On Friday, December 8th in the evening from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm, however, if you have a VIP ticket you will be able to enter the venue at 6:00 pm, giving you an extra 1.5 hours to enjoy the fun! The event will be located at the Eastern Market’s Shed #3 which you can find at 2934 Russell Street in Detroit, which has plenty of nearby parking for those driving in for the festivities.
It’s also worth noting that the funds raised from this event are going to a good cause, a local charity called Youth Sports Scholarships.
