On Tuesday, May 22nd, the Detroit Zoological Society shared with the world that they would be unveiling a brand new design for its logo, website, and iconic water town standing by the zoo’s entrance.
The water tower’s iconic purple and blue design, which has been in place since 1998, is now being replaced with a new design featuring colorful animals and plants while also showcasing the zoo’s new official logo.
Now, a full 26 years later, the zoo’s new water tower design is going to feature some of the most iconic residents of the Detroit Zoo including a penguin, a giraffe, a tiger, and more! The bright new colors and the varying designs of the zoo’s logo wrapped around the tower, highlighting different animals from each angle, are sure to catch the eye a bit more of those passing by than the more neutral tones of the past design, potentially bringing in more visitors to the zoo.
The Detroit Zoo’s account on X posted a clip last month showing the history of the water tower’s various designs over the years, and teasing that they’d be rebranding again in 2024.
When can you see the Detroit Zoo’s new water tower design?
The new water tower design is still being installed and as a result cannot be fully appreciated in person just yet, unfortunately. However, based on the design that they revealed this week, we are extremely excited to see what it looks like in person and will certainly be heading to the Detroit Zoo in the coming weeks to see it for ourselves!
The Detroit Zoo remains one of the best things to do with kids around Detroit, and with this current excitement regarding the rebranding, we are definitely enthusiastic about the Zoo’s positive development.
What else is new at the Detroit Zoo?
The zoo’s rebranding extends to its new logo, which is featured prominently as the focal point of the water tower’s new design, and of course, the Detroit Zoo’s official website, which has already integrated the new color scheme into its design!
Aside from the website’s visual changes to match the new look and feel of the logo and water tower design, has also been optimized to make the user experience easier than ever before!
But that’s not all! The modernization and rebranding of the Detroit Zoo in 2024 would not be complete without its own dedicated app, which is now available in the app store!
