Any Metro Detroit area romantics searching for their sole mate and interested in becoming a reality TV star may be excited to hear that Netflix’s ‘Love is Blind’ has issued a casting call for Detroit area singles.
What is ‘Love is Blind’?
The show, which is launching its seventh season later this year, takes the concept of blind dates to the extreme, where contestants can only communicate with prospective matches through a speaker from isolated pods and has its contestants agree to get engaged after only having a few days to talk without ever having seen each other!
Once the match is made and the engagement is finalized, the contestants are whisked off to spend a few weeks together in the same apartment in the host city, as one does just after promising to marry someone they’ve never seen on TV.
How To Audition & What’s The Catch?
There are no significant stipulations with auditioning for ‘Love is Blind’, but considering the show has been historically plagued with controversies, there is a pretty strenuous interview process to ensure you are a good fit with the reality TV program.
You can start your audition process by completing this 69-question survey which will go into detail about your personal life, dating history, hobbies, dealbreakers, and require a 15-second pitch video, amongst other things.
The input from this survey is then reviewed by a third party conducting a more intense background check that will even include a psychological evaluation of those seriously considered potential contestants.
As mentioned earlier, the show is quite controversial, and signing up to be a contestant should not be taken lightly, contestants in the past have filed lawsuits against the show’s runners alleging sexual assault, and even inhumane working conditions!
