From April 25th to April 27th, Downtown Detroit will play host to the NFL Draft for the first time and Detroit is not holding back!
The stage for the main draft event takes up nearly the entire length of Campus Martius Park nearly reaching Hart Plaza in the heart of Downtown Detroit. The event will undoubtedly bring hundreds of thousands of NFL fans, players, and insiders to Detroit to participate in the event, not to mention the many Detroit loyal celebrities who showed their support for the Lions during our playoff push this past season.
The event is going to include several events that take up the full weekend, including musical performances, interactive exhibits, meet-and-greet events for autographs and photos, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg! While the festivities and fun surrounding the NFL Draft are exciting, the best part about this event is the economic development that the influx in tourism and business will have on the local Detroit economy. Similar to how the Lions’ two home playoff games last season developed an additional several million dollars for the local Detroit economy, this event is likely to not only provide enough business to allow Detroit to further develop and grow, but it’s an incredible opportunity to show the rest of the country, or the world for that matter, just how far Detroit has come over the years!
Detroit is already considered one of the must-visit cities of 2024 in North America according to travel experts, but this is still a great opportunity for Detroit to show off it’s amazing growth to the world!
How to enter the NFL Draft area
To enter the NFL Draft area to see the live performances of Big Sean or Bazzi, or to see the draft itself, you need to download the NFL One Pass app on your smartphone, which will allow you access to the fan area. However, it’s important to consider that space is on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if you show up later, don’t expect to have a quality view.
